Maoists, SLMM decide to strengthen present govt

The coalition partners have decided to strengthen the government at the time when the main opposition parties Nepali Congress and CPN-UML have been trying to topple Baburam Bhattarai-led government.
The meeting held between Maoist and Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha (SLMM) at the Prime Minister's Office made decision to this effect, Minister for Physical Planning and Construction Hridesh Tripathi informed.
He further said the meeting also decided to give national consensus structure to the present government and to make favorable environment to include NC and UML in the government.
Tripathi expressed his belief that the present government will promulgate new constitution on May 27.
Today's meeting dwelt upon formation of national consensus government and constitution drafting.
Maoist Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal on Sunday had proposed to forge consensus in package to solve all the issues.
The parties who have lately been holding intense discussions to settle the complications regarding the form of government and state restructuring have been failing to make any headway despite several attempts.
