बन्द फिर्ता Brahman-Chhetri Samaj calls off bandh

KATHMANDU: Vehicles have started plying on roads immediately after agitating Brahman-Chhetri Samaj called off their dawn to dusk Nepal bandh on Saturday morning. Though their talks with government yielded no results on Friday, they decided to lift off the bandh citing the impending festivals of the different ethnic groups, News 24. Academic institutions,business hubs, transportation services had downed their shutters on Thursday and Friday at the call of the struggle committee comprising Chhetri Samaj, Brahman Samaj, Thakuri Samaj, Dashnami Samaj, Dalit Janajagaran Sewa Sangh, Bibedh Mukti Pragatishil Samaj and the Federation of Marginalised Groups. The agitating groups called the nation-wide shutdown against the
ethnicity-based federalism and upon a demand that Brahmins and Chhetris be listed under the indigenous category.
