The disappointment

There are times in our lives, when we face disappointments; when evenafter doing everything we could, things don't turn out to be as expected.Sometimes we freak out, sometimes we weep, and sometimes we simply do not understand how to react to a given situation. We keep repeating to ourselves, and sometimes to others, that we did all we could and that life isn't fair to us. This situation must be familiar to everyone. However, what might be alien to some of us, is the way to overcome such situations in our lives. There are three steps that can help us keep moving.
Step I : The Acceptance
The first step is very simple. All we have to do is to remember that whenwe give our best to do something, though we increase the probability ofretrieving good results, but we certainly, do not nullify the chances that the outcome could be less, or may be, far less than expected. We should understand and accept the fact that we cannot own the results.
Step II : The Seek
The second step requires us to seek out what went wrong from a peaceful and open mind. And once we know our mistakes, we must make sure not to repeat them again.
But there's one thing that's worth noting in this step. Sometimes we work and act as perfectly as we can, and still we obtain disappointing results. The point is to remember the first step again. Sometimes there are no flaws, but we just cannot own the results.
Step III : The Purpose of Life
The last step is to set the purpose of our lives. Most of us take our lives for granted. We study, we enjoy, we earn, we build family, and we die. Amidst all of this, what most of us forget is that how privileged we are to have been granted a LIFE. We all have been provided a chance to give our lives a deeper meaning.
Let's consider an example. The students of a class were asked to draw something on a plain sheet within an hour. It was found that there werethree kind of students. Type A : The students who drew random pictures; Type B : The students who drew pictures that conveyed a meaning; TypeC : The students who drew nothing and cursed the teacher. What these students did not know was that the drawings which convey a meaning would be selected for an exhibition. And therefore, even though most of them could have drawn meaningful pictures, only some of them happened to do it.
This is what life is. We have been granted a life, but no one told us what we were supposed to do with it. We can be Type A - doing anything we feel like without knowing it's purpose, or Type C - doing nothing in life and cursing life when we face bad situations, or we can be Type B - acknowledging the opportunity and doing things that MATTER.
It's up to us to make our lives count. And when we determine and work to make our lives count, we develop a larger purpose of our lives. It's then, that we don't get stuck to any disappointment. And it's only then, we begin to understand that it's not the end of life. The biggest disappointment arises when we lose ourselves; when we give up. The will to give a deeper meaning to our lives helps us keep moving and growing without losing ourselves.
