Dahal, Koirala discuss peace, constitution

Chairman of the UCPN-Maoist, Pushpa Kamal Dahal, and President of the Nepali Congress (NC), Sushil Koirala, held discussions at the latter's residence in Maharajgunj on Thursday.
Discussions on peace process and constitution writing were held during the meeting, said Dahal.
Dahal further said they have reached closer to consensus on the disputed issues regarding army integration and consensus was made tohold more discussions by holding a meeting of the three parties including the CPN-UML.
Similarly, Vice-president of the NC, Ram Chandra Poudel said that Chairman Dahal demanded representation of combatants in a general directorate to be set up after the army integration.
Poudel stated that they have proposed to forward the army integrationprocess smoothly and the combatants should be integrated on the basisof equality.
He further said that giving responsibility of army integration process to the Nepal Army without making unnecessary interferences by political parties was the concept of his party.
Chairman Dahal of the UCPN-Maoist, President Sushil Koirala, Vice-President Poudel and leader Dr. Ram Sharan Mahat of the NC were present in the meeting.
